Teaching Artists
Arts on the Horizon is seeking teaching artists for our afterschool enrichment offerings and weekly summer camp sessions
For Summer Camps the available positions include:
Teaching artists will write their own plans based on a provided framework and with guidance from the Director of Education.

A resume and a brief statement (a couple of sentences) about your interest in arts education and why you are interested in teaching with Arts on the Horizon. While we ask that resumes be submitted in written form, we invite applicants to submit their statement via audio recording, video recording, or written form – whatever format best supports your self-expression. For Summer Camps the available positions include:
- Lead Teachers (Starting rate: $440/wk for half-day sessions)
- Assistant Teachers (Starting rate: $330/week for half-day sessions)
- Programs typically run any one day a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Fridays.
- Hours are usually 3:15pm-4:15pm, 4:00pm-5:00pm, or 4:15pm-5:15pm, depending on the site and the program.
- Each class is 1 hour long and offered for a session lasting 6 to 9 weeks, consecutively.
- Rate of pay for teachers is typically $60-$75, per one-hour class session.

Production Open Call
Arts on the Horizon’s productions are specifically designed for an audience of children ages 0-6, and are nonverbal, interactive, and incorporate physical theatre, object manipulation, and dance. Performances are 20-30 minutes in length and primarily take place during the morning hours. Music is an integral component. Productions usually have between one and three performers, a minimal set, and do not have any costume changes. Most productions rely heavily on props and objects.
For rehearsals and performances, stage managers are paid a weekly salary of $425. For workshops, stage managers are paid $20-$23/hour.
Designers are paid $800-$1,800 per project, depending on the production needs.
